In the year 2024 I learned a lot about Linux operating system in the course: “Linux palvelimet”. The course is run by Tero Karvinen.

I had no previous experience about working with Linux OS. After the course I had learned basic use of Linux CLI and was able to control daemons with ease. I still have my rental cloud server that has 1CPU and 1GB RAM, it costs only 3€/month so not a big deal even for a student. A cheap rental Linux server is great for my own little tinkering projects.

The learning tasks in the course were fair and educational. The course had a different approach to teaching than I was used to, lectures were very interactive and focused on reviewing students homework, this gave a lot of ideas on how things can be achieved.
